What does UBL-CR-586 mean? A UBL invoice should not include the InvoiceLine Item StandardItemIdentification IssuerParty
Why did my invoice fail UBL-CR-586?
The official rule states: "A UBL invoice should not include the InvoiceLine Item StandardItemIdentification IssuerParty". The IssuerParty element under InvoiceLine/Item (Item/StandardItemIdentification) exists in the generic UBL 2.1 schema but is not mapped to any EN 16931 business term, so a core-compliant invoice must leave it out. Receivers validating against EN 16931 will flag it because data in unmapped elements cannot be reliably processed. EN 16931 uses only the identifier with its scheme: cac:StandardItemIdentification/cbc:ID with a schemeID attribute (BT-157).

Common causes
- A UBL generator emitting all optional children of cac:StandardItemIdentification instead of only cbc:ID
- Putting barcode or physical-attribute data here instead of encoding the scheme in the schemeID attribute of cbc:ID
- Copying a catalogue UBL structure into the invoice
